Hitting the Wall: Into the Present Moment

All life takes place in the moment. That is where it all happens. And the present moment is the only place where we can envision ourselves more fully. Often what brings us to dare to invite this vision is a sense of having "hit the wall" in some way. When our waters are dammed up, we seek an image with which to transcend that dam. Going to the wilderness in solitude is a time honored way to seek the image, the vision, the dream that sets us in flowing motion again.                 ...more
Letting Go of Concepts

There are lessons to be learned in the wilderness. Definition, for example, is irrelevant. Nature has no respect for arbitrary definition. She embraces everything. Desert heat? Mountain snow? Fasting is an ancient method for preparing oneself to enter the dark to retrieve one's soul. The Return

Mythology tells us that if we hold true to the journey into the dark night, and tend the dream well - however challenging it's imagery - we will bring something of great value back with us. This process requires grace, but we can facilitate it as much as possible through a diligent intent.
